Using audioboo to help clarify instructions
The review page (contributing to stickies) comes with an audioboo; I liked the idea of doing this after looking at one of the Showcases. The audioboo is very short and it encourages the participants to listen to what they have to do. Sometimes the students rush into activities and listening to instructions may encourage them to respond more. The students are encouraged to post their comments, links, thoughts etc. on the linoit page on what they have learned so far.
Evaluation
The learners found the audio a little difficult to hear and I need to ensure that I plan what I am going to say before I say it otherwise I can come across as not so clear and a little flustered. However, I think the principle of using audioboo to clarify instructions is a good one.

ReplyDeleteThis audioboo is a short to be really effective. I am not sure to what extent it really aided collaboration because all the learners had to do was listen to the instructions and do the activity. The activity was reasonably straightforward and we had already discussed what to do in the session; the audioboo was more of a consolidation really.
I particularly like the idea of using visuals and embedding audioboo so that the audio aids comprehension of what the learners can see. I have a visually-impaired learner in one of my groups and this would make the resources more accessible. This would work in the same way as Pinterest but with an audio element to it.
Overall, I need to be more experimental with using Audioboo.
